Freedom in Christ
To my dear fellow believers and friends,
On this Friday, as I am sitting here reflecting my thoughts and my heart is sadden to hear the news of Kate Spate and Anthony Bourdain who are no longer with us. The truth is that both have decided to take their own life. One was known for her designs of handbags and purses and the other was a great chef and story teller. Both were successful and well known in their respective field and were accomplished and seemed to have everything on the outside.
I want to address the importance of mental and emotional health. There are so many stresses that each one of us is dealing with on a daily basis whether are family, jobs, finances or relationships. It does take a toll on toll gradually if there is no outlet in dealing with them.
If I am not careful, these things can become my master and idols and even though we felt good on the outside but there is no freedom and we feel trapped in our mind. In 2 Corinthians 3:17, ‘Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.’ Take hope and courage in that. Believing today that Christ wants to be free in Him that He alone gives us meaning and hope and joy not in the things of the world.
Whatever you are feeling today, surrenders it to God and He will let you experience true freedom in Him.
